Fred W. Davis
The Honorable Fred W. Davis, senior judge (retired) and of Counsel, joined the firm on January 5, 2009 after 20 years served as Judge of the 17th District Court of Tarrant County. He was elected to the court in 1988 and served diligently since his investiture. In 1995 he was elected by his fellow judges to serve for one year as Local Administrative Judge of the Tarrant County Judiciary, and in 2008, he was recipient of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award. This Award is given to a jurist who demonstrates fairness in his or her rulings, and wisdom, intelligence, reasonableness, courtesy, patience, and humor to the judiciary, as well as knowledge and respect of the law.
Judge Davis practiced law in Arlington, Texas for 26 years before being elected to the bench. He does not consider himself “retired,” but just pursuing a new career. He plans to pursue a mediation and arbitration practice as well as continue trial work as a Chapter 151 Special Judge.
